There are three main states of matter. Solid, liquid and gas.

Solids are objects that keep its shape. The atoms are closely packed together. 

Atoms in liquids move freely but are still close together and takes the shape of it’s container. Examples of liquids are: water and orange juice.

Atoms in gases move freely. Examples of a gas is: oxygen and carbon dioxide.

Learning About Statistics

Walt: gather, sort, and display data to answer questions.

We have been learning about statistics and making a Google Form for who likes the most things at Camp Bentzon - Kawau Island Camp. We are gathering data so then we will be able to sort and display it.

Harambe Is Life

HARAMBE IS LIFE

One day a man named Nick thought he would explore an abandoned bar. The bar was famous for a lot of reasons but the Germans blew the bar up. After that the town was deserted no one ever came back again. So Nick went on a trip to the place and it was in San Francisco in a closed hot deserted area.

When he got there he was looking for the bar. It took him 10 minutes to look for the place then he saw it. He quietly approached the the bar he saw that the door was closed he didn’t want to open the door incase something happened, He could hear screeches from the inside of the bar.

He went to open the door and he saw a gorilla “AHHH” Screamed Nick. Nick ran and the gorilla was chasing him Nick had no choice but to stop because Nick had a sore leg. Nick saw a ladder he furiously ran to it he climbed up to the roof Nick looked at the gorilla and he was known as “HARAMBE” He was legendary after millions of people thought he was dead but he wasn’t.

Nick asked “Wait are you Harambe?!” Nick said “Oh that’s right gorillas can’t talk” But then Harambe said. “Yes I can talk” “WOAH” Nick said. Nick was wondering why Harambe would be out here so he asked “Why are you even out here?!” Harambe said. “Because I want to get away from people and I have a $1,000,000 price on me if I get captured” Nick said don’t worry i’ll keep you safe. “Really?” Said Harambe “Of course” Nick said. So they traveled back home and lived happily ever after. THE END

Kayaking Narrative

In a lake with a small family going kayaking on a hot sunny bright day. Their names were Jake, Jack and their dad Josh. They jumped in the car and drove off to the lake. It was called Lake Magma and this was a very famous lake.

Once they arrived they took out the kayaks and got ready the family were super excited and couldn’t wait. They jumped in the kayaks and paddled off. Half an hour later they got near a waterfall it was pouring down with water and they were close to zooming down into a rocky lake. Oh No! were about to go down! AHHHHHHHH! As they were falling screams of terror loudly were shouted they hit the water at the bottom of the waterfall. They swam for their lives! their hearts were beating fast like a cheetah they were flowing down the lake and then they all quickly grappled to the side of the grass. They jumped out and were terrified they were breathing heavily.

They changed into their clothes and jumped in the car and went back home. Jack said “WOAH” “THAT WAS AWESOME!” Their own dad was terrified the kids laughed at him “Haha” Dad felt shocked and scared Jack said “At least we had fun”.

                                         THE END

My name is Kyron I am a Year 6 student at Pt England School. I am unhappy about the pollution in New Zealand. It is not healthy to animals and humans and the sea. Pollution in the sea causes death to the fishes and the birds The pollution spreads all over the country and its bad and most of the people do not like it and it makes people very angry and it needs to stop.

What would you do about this I think that people need to stop chucking their rubbish in the drain and their should be a law because if there isn’t any stop to this it will just keep carrying on. Then the world will be full of pollution and its not gonna be a healthy environment.

Extension Narrative - The War.

He was pensive, confused and he was always depressed and angry. His name was Whetu and he lived in NZ. There was a lot going on and he couldn’t stop thinking of depression in his life. The year 1887 came and there was a war against the Maori and the British. He didn’t want to go but he had no choice or else he would become a prisoner.


So the day came and all the Maori tribes set off to the battle in their waka. The boat wasn’t that big so they had to squash each other and it was a long journey to the battle field. It was really challenging for the Maori because they didn't have as many weapons and supplies compared to the British. The British and Maori sides were now both trained and ready for battle. Whetu was one of the best warriors from his tribe.

Both sides were nervous. Suddenly the British troops started to charge. The Maori attacked back. Whetu ran up and charged at a soldier. He whipped out his taiaha and hit the soldier who collapsed onto the ground. The fighting got worse as the day went on. Luckily for Whetu his side were winning. The Maori warriors cleared out the British troops from the battle field.

The Maori and Whetu were so happy that the war was over. They sung and had a celebration but they were still quite sad because they had lost many men.

The 40 Hour Famine!

Tonight I am participating in the 40 Hour Famine! We are trying to fund raise as much money as we can to Syrian refugees. Their houses in Syria are being bombed so they have to get to safety. Over thousands of Syrian refugees everyday leave the country because of their safety and the crisis.

My team for the famine is the blue team. I really like my team we work together and strive to succeed. We are only allowed to eat barley sugars and drink water or just juice. 

My goal is to donate over $100 dollars we are having so much fun, playing basketball and having dance battles in the hall.

Kyron - The Fab Four

Hello and welcome to my superhero. My superhero’s name is Hashimaki - The Predictor. His superpower is the ability to predict the future and shoot fire from his hands. This is how he got his superpower in a fire a fire triggered in his home somehow but he survived. He is also very small and he has a cool costume with a cape and his favorite thing is helping people, the word help to Hashimaki is his no.1 priority to him he likes the colour blue just like his costume if you have any trouble come to Hashimaki he will help you out!.

Kyron - Will He Save Her?

It was a dark gloomy night in Gotham City. Batman was spying on Mary Jane for his mate Spiderman because he had a feeling that something bad was gonna happen. Mary Jane is a newspaper reporter and she was interviewing some quite famous people on the red carpet at the Oscars. As Mary Jane was still talking Batman spotted The Joker approaching Mary Jane. He had a duffel bag full of C4! I knew I was right to look out for Mary Jane tonight!.

AHHHH!!!! The Joker runs quickly to Mary Jane! She was so scared! As the Joker runs up the stairs to the roof of the building Mary Jane tries to escape! But she has no luck of escaping Batman quickly glides to the roof of the building suddenly The Joker pushes Mary Jane of the building! Batman goes for Mary Jane she is falling off roof batman is shooting down for Mary Jane to save her! The Joker is planting the C4’s! Oh no its gonna explode the building but batman must save Mary Jane first!.

Batman just catches Mary Jane! As he’s got her he glides away and batman put her in a safe place but he needs to stop the joker before he explodes the building so batman quickly goes back and jumps on the Joker! But the Joker grabs Batman’s arm and forcely smashes his body onto the ground! But then the Joker kicks Batman in the face so Batman was so dizzy he could barely walk! Then Batman suddenly doesn't feel dizzy anymore Batman gets up whacks the Jokers legs! The Joker falls off the building! Then Batman quickly gets everyone to the safety zone Batman escapes from the building before the police come.

The Joker escapes jail this time but at least he got his butt kicked!!

We had to produce a movie about the Pt England Way and making "Kindness Go Viral" also helping each one another so we hope you enjoy!.

I edited some of the movie and acted in it.

Volcanoes Around The World

Walt (google maps): through finding out about volcanoes around the world to pin on a map, we are learning to make meaning of a range of texts by identifying main ideas in them and then translating the information and ideas that we learn into our own words.

With this task we were learning to pin volcsnoes on our google map and attach information that we had found. We used google maps as our tool to help us with this.

What I learnt from this activity was that Lake Taupo is a super volcano called a caldera. Lake Taupo made a desert road when it blew up.
